Best Tile Saw Reviews, Highly Recommend Good Tile Saws

For 2011, I decided to update my tile saw reviews and wet tile saw ratings list.  My tiling projects are complete but I’ve received a few emails looking for more details on the best tile saws so I decided to create a top 8 tile saw list for fun.  Keep in mind, I haven’t used all of these wet saws first hand but I did compile this list from what I’ve heard from neighbors, workers at Lowe’s and Home Depot, and other tile saw reviews online.  This list of the best tile saws includes both professional tile saws and diy tile saws.

What are the Best Tile Saws?

1. DEWALT D24000 1.5-Horsepower 10-Inch Wet Tile Saw – Not for the DIYer unless you have money to spare. Fantastic tile saw for the professional remodeler. The cutting capacity is awesome at 26″ rip and 18 3/8″ diagonally. Makes smooth and accurate cuts. Powerful and great water containment. The costs range from $649 and up.  The DeWalt Tile Saw is probably the #1 tile saw out there.

The dewalt tile saw is a bad boy. This is the best professional tile saw I have seen.

2. MK Diamond MK-101 Pro 2-Horsepower 10-Inch Wet Cutting Tile Saw – Another professional tile saw with great reviews. The costs range $849 and up but you get a lot in return. The MK Diamond tile saw can cut through cermanic wall or ceramic floor tiles and even granite. Very easy and smooth cuts with great accuracy. Motor runs quiet unlike a lot of other tile saws and the water tray can be easily removed from underneath the base for easy clean-up.

3. MK Diamond 158252 MK-145 1/2-Horsepower 4-1/2-Inch Wet Tile Saw – A great value tile saw. You can get this tile saw for as cheap as $99 but it’s packed with great utility. The pros of this tile saw are its powerful, makes strong cuts, and gets the job done for small home projects. The cons are you have to continually make sure the reservoir full, it’s loud, and it will wear down after 400-500 or so cuts depending on the thickness and grade of tile you’re cutting.

4. Northern Industrial Wet Tile Saw – 7in. Blade Size – The cheapest tile saw out there that isn’t a manual tile saw. If you’re going to rent a cheap tile saw, you should just buy this wet saw for $69 total. Obviously, you won’t get all the best features out of it but it gets the job done. The cons of the Northern Tile Saw is it’s little flimsy, sloppy clean up, and hard to get a good/precise setting. Perfect buy for a small project. Probably get 100-200 cuts out of it.

5. MK Diamond 160028 MK-377 1/3-Horsepower 7-Inch Wet Tile Saw – The MK Diamond 7-Inch Tile saw packs a good amount of power in a small package. Makes difficult cuts fairly easily. There is no water pump, the blade runs through the water water reservoir to keep cool. Costs anywhere from $89 to $119. Cheap tile saw. Perfect for Do It Yourselfers.

The Northern Industrial Tile Saw is a great cheap tile saw you can buy cheaper than you can rent. Perfect for the small DIY project.

7. QEP 83200 24-Inch Bridge Tile Saw with Water Pump and Stand – Good motor power. Good, precise cuts. Reservoir pan works fine. The only real downside is it’s bulky and hard to lug around.

8. MK Diamond 157222 MK-170 1/3-Horsepower 7-Inch Bench Wet Tile Saw – Cuts very well with little effort required though the dimpled table does make some cuts difficult. $159 model so it’s for the home tile project DIY. You’ll want to use this tile saw outside as it does get messy. Powerful but noisy. Angled cuts are an adventure. Overall, an above average tile saw for the money.

Tile Saw Reviews

And that is my tile saw guide for 2011. I hope these ratings have helped you in your decision on what is the best tile saw to buy. Obviously, there are a lot of factors that are going to be unique to your situation that tells you what wet tile saw is the best for your needs (ie professional job vs diy job, grade of tile, type of tile, size of project, budget, number of angled cuts, number of degree cuts, etc.) but I think these tile saw reviews and ratings will help point you in the right direction.

Keep in mind my tile saw recommendations are based in large part on word of mouth. If you know something to the contrary, please feel free to leave a comment and let everyone know what your experience has been. In general, I think sticking with the big brands like MK Diamond, DeWalt, and Husky Tile Saws is a great way to stay on the safe side. I personally own and have used a Husky Tile Saw (read my complete tile saw review on the link) and I would definitely put it in the mix as one of the best tile saws.

Let us know what good tile saws you have bought and what you think the best values on tile saws are for professional tilers or just beginner DIY tiling projects.  Thanks very much for stopping by.
