7″ Wet Tile Saw at Lowes on Sale for $79

If you’re after a discount on wet tile saws, then I have a treat for you. Lowe’s currently has the QEP 7″ wet saw on sale for $19 off regular price. Item number 124503 used to be $98 but now is nearly 20% off at $79. This is model number 60087. The vital specs on this are 3.5 Amps, 3400 RPM, and 120 Volts.

The price is even more of a good deal when you consider this has a decent power with 2/3 HP. Of course it works with a 7″ saw blade with the standard 5/8″ arbor. The existing water reservoir is separate from all electrical parts for the users safety. The table will tilt up to 45 degrees for miter cuts.

Other than the Husky wet saw at Home Depot, this is the only tile saw on sale I have seen. Another disappointment has been the lack of diversification among brands. For example, the mk tile saw and felker tile have been nowhere to be seen at either Lowe’s or Home Depot.

Here are some upclose photos for this QEP Wet Saw:

This 7” saw weighs 18 lbs. which is on the low side as far as how much tile saws weigh but I don’t know if it qualifies as portable. The max cut size rip is 24 inches – same for the diagonal tile cut. The reason this model may have been discounted is because it doesn’t sport the features other similar middle tier cutters do. There is no laser guide, no water pump and no stand. The positives are it will cut just about all the standard surfaces including ceramic and porcelain tile.

In this post, I also want to talk about a portable marble & tile saw. This one cuts wet or dry and is $89. Here is what it looks like:

This model (#49901) actually does include a laser cut guide for accurate, precison cuts. The bright blue saw cuts porcelain, marble, and stone ceramic tile. Included with the saw is a blow mold case and a water feeder kit. It meets all of the regular safety guides and only weighs 10 lbs although you should consider you’ll be holding this with one hand as opposed to having a steady surface to brace yourself on.

If you can’t see the fine print in the photo, this is a 10.5 Amp wet saw with 11,500 RPM. If you’re just researching RPM will help you to make your cuts as smooth as possible. If you need to clean the ground outside, read this pressure water parts site for information on cleaning concrete dirt.
